The Next Chapter Begins

From board exams back to the ground — reigniting the Fireflies mission

Hi, my name is Siddhartha Rana Ponugoti.

Before the intense academic demands of my Standard X board exams required my full attention, my heart was on the ground working with migrant labour communities. Through our initial initiative Fireflies, with the support of my sister Gargi Ponugoti, we sought to bring visibility and support to the invisible workforce tending to the silent growth of our cities — the construction labourers and their educationally displaced children affected by the wandering nature of their parents moving city to city to find work throughout the year.

Then came a necessary 3-year pause. Textbooks replaced fieldwork, and exam halls replaced community shelters. But passion doesn’t dissolve with time; it matures.

While my old website has been deactivated, the mission never stopped evolving in my mind. Standing on the foundation of what we built with Fireflies, I am officially restarting my journey to support migrant communities and the needy. I am older, equipped with better perspective, and ready to do my bit to create an impact.

The exams are over. The next chapter begins now. Stay tuned as we roll out our first on-ground initiative.
